We received a new dashcam backup battery called Energywell as an alternative to Thinkware and BlackVue OEM batteries.

I wanted to make you aware of the proper installation/initial setup for this unit in case you get inquires as I have already received one issue from a dealer:
Initial Setup:
- Charge the Energywell Battery Pack for at least 1 hour with constant power.
- After the battery has a good initial charge, Disconnect the Battery Pack from power.
- Now it can be connected to ignition so it only recharges when the vehicle is running.
- Power off the Battery Pack, and then power on again.
- Connect it to the Dashcam; EnergyWell should now be functioning normally as expected.
Background Dealer complaint received:
A dealer installed the EnergyWell Battery Pack and it worked well until the customer left it for 5 days, after which the battery appeared to be fully depleted and then it would not activate parking mode on the dashcam. The dealer went back to the Battery Pack, pushed the button, held it, turned off the battery, and back on, and parking mode started to work again.
NB. They did not perform the initial charge sequence.
