Regarding our new Energywell dashcam battery packs, we have discovered an issue whereby if the battery gets fully depleted in the vehicle, it requires the user to manually power the unit back on with the physical power switch in order to restore normal functionality. Additionally, select units won’t keep power on battery even after being charged for 2+ hours on the bench as part of the initial setup (i.e. turns off when you remove power and won’t turn on).

 

I have received a firmware update and instructions from Energywell to address both issues, along with a cable in order to perform this update. We will need to update all units in inventory. I have an extra cable that we can send to our Vancouver warehouse to flash their units, if you advise this is something they can do without too much grief.
